Interesting Day

Yesterday was an interesting day with the rain and everyone staying indoors. First graders were working in groups sounding out (decoding) words for their story. I watched one of our second graders as he pondered intently on a problem while tapping his pencil on his hand. Ding, the light when off and he hurriedly put down his answer. It was like watching a cartoon as the light turns on over the character's head. Seventh grade was working on Venn diagrams comparing and contrasting Texas rock bands and sports games (very active learning). I'm sure the students won't believe this but one of the best parts of my job is being in the classroom and watching student learning.

Student Council

Congratulations to our newly elected Student Council members! They are President- Allyson Gordon, V.P.- Hannah Bertelson, Secretary- Julia Pashilk, Treasurer- Zach Ray, 7A Rep- Jaden Shoults, 7B Rep- Seth Matchus, 6A Rep- Jordan Shoults, and 6B Rep- Claire Crawford.

School Board

We would like to thank our retiring School Board members, Patrick Cordero, Linda Honeyfield and Jesse Ochoa, for their service to St. Ann's School. They have provided us with wise council over the three years they have served. We welcome our new board members, Jeff Durgin, Virginia Elinzondo, and Gloria Gruenwald. They join our current members, Roy Bowling, Stephanie Herrera, Euda Lee Kemper, Andrew Madrid, Jerry Morales and Paul Porter.
