A good school secretary is one of the most valuable staff members, contributing to a good first impression and an overall environment of efficiency and dedication to education. Although the school secretary may not be involved in policy development or hands-on instruction, they play a vital role in the success of a school system.  Teachers and students find a little haven in the school office.

Mrs. Betty Lou Beumeler was a school secretary for 22 years (1963-1984) at St. Ann’s School.  She was much loved by the students and staff as well as the St. Ann’s Parish community.  Her “nursing” reputation for healing cuts and bruises was widely known.  Some second graders would only allow Mrs. Beumeler to clean a wound and put on the “special” band aid.  As a student once said, “Mrs. B. is like our “healing” angel. As a part of the administrative team of St. Ann’s School, Mrs. Beumeler worked hard to make sure that things around the school ran smoothly, while still genuinely caring for the students and faculty.  How blessed to have had Mrs. Beumeler be a part of the St. Ann’s School story!

In ways big and small, Mrs. Beumeler touched too many hearts to ever be forgotten.  We extend our heartfelt sympathy to her family. God bless you Mrs. Beumeler.
